June 30, 2014 Daily Writing Post

Today is the first time I will post one of the required daily writing posts for my English 101 class. I am honestly behind on these posts but plan to begin today and keep up writing until the end. I have absolutely no idea what to write about or if anything is even required. I just know what can be included in our writing. I guess that means we don't exactly have to exclude anything. I'm going to think of something totally random to write about now.
If I was a dog, I would like to choose what type of dog I would be. I would like to be a great dane or an english mastiff. Either of those breeds would do just fine, even though it wouldn't matter a whole lot because they are both huge dog breeds. The great dane might be a little faster but that would only mean the mastiff could be stronger. I would kind of like being a dog because you wouldn't have to do anything in life but love someone. You wouldn't have to clean up after yourself, feed yourself, turn on televisions. You wouldn't have to bathe yourself or go to the bathroom in a designated location, you would have a whole area. You wouldn't have any bills to worry about or a car to put gas in. You wouldn't need to go to school a day in your life, unless you were considered to be a "dumb dog" and your person sent you to a training school. That probably wouldn't be that too bad anyway.
I think that is enough for today and I look forward to returning tomorrow with whatever other random topic comes to mind. Today was fun, I was able to open up my mind and imagination a little. I got to explore my mind just a little bit more. I like knowing more about what I know already.

My Delightful Audience

The wonderful audience that I have been graced with in my English 101 class is what seems to be a pretty great bunch. They don't seem to be very secretive or withdrawn from society. This group appears to be one of the groups I would fit into when I was still in high school. Being outdoors and relieving stress by doing so is one of the most common things among us I believe. Everyone wants to travel and go visit somewhere outside of North America.
Creativity is definitely present among the group, and not too much of a problem expressing that creativity. I like that everyone is pretty social within the blackboard and it's not just because we were instructed to do so. We have no problems helping, critiquing, and editing each others work which can also be considered a good trait to be present in the group. I like the fact that I don't have to be worried about asking for help because I will get it somewhere, rather it be from the instructor or from a fellow peer.
I like that everyone is very open and able to freely express themselves because when read properly can give someone the upper hand in finding certain material to write about. It really assists me because I'm not one to write just for myself or for the pleasure of doing so; I write to entertain or attempt to educate an audience. It is helpful to know my audience because it gives me more of a general idea of what to write about to please my audience. It helps me put my ideas into writing because I know what I am writing about with my audience in mind.

Jung's Typology Test

The Jung Typology Test really did a number on summarizing my personality and who I am as a person. It said my personality type is ENTP. It caught everything down to things I like to do on my free time like solve puzzles and work with intellectual "toys." It got how I catch myself starting arguments, good or not, just for sport to prove my skill in debating certain points. It said that this can aggravate those who don't understand that it's just for sport. It mentioned that I am capable of bonding very closely and suddenly with loved ones and can very easily spot a kindred spirit.
I honestly don't think this will help me much as a student or a writer just because of the fact that I already knew these things about myself. I already knew how to view these aspects of my personality and how to apply them as well as control them. I could see this being very useful to someone who was not able to look inside and see the different aspects of their personality. This could help someone unlock more doors to their success as a writer because they would be able to apply more of their personality to their writing.
This test should be given to more students as well, not only those in writing classes. They would be able to find answers to so many questions about themselves and be able to apply themselves in everything they do, not just writing. This could assist high school students with discovering which path they would like to go on with their future. I feel this would have really helped me when I was still in high school because I was going nowhere back then.
